Take time to read Matthew’s account of the crucifixion of Jesus                   (Matthew 27:32-66).   

            What is most striking to you about what took place? 

            What is the significance of the sky turning dark?

            What do you make of the centurions comment, “Surely he was the Son of God.”

At times you will see someone who is totally absorbed in their own sins and then convicted of their sinfulness.  One response is to feel unworthy of God’s forgiveness.  How would you respond to this person about their feeling?

Dallas Willard once said, “The crucifixion of Jesus is the all time high-water-mark of love on earth.”  How would you describe the ultimate lesson of the cross?

Three aspects of the cross were discussed this morning; forgiveness, freedom and family.  Choose the one that is most meaningful to you and share how the cross makes it possible.
