Read Jonah 1:17-2:9

1.  Share your favorite "fishing story" with your group.

2.  A great fish, swallowing Jonah, is certainly a miracle of God.  Name some fo the additional great miracles of God as recorded in scripture.  How did Jesus use the miracle of Jonah and the great fish in his teaching ministry? (Matthew 12:40, Luke 11:29-32)

3.  Jonah spent three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish.  What do you think he thought about during this dark time in his life?  Share a time in your life when God brought you to a stopping point.  How did He do it?  What was the result?

4.  Read once again Jonah's thoughts while in the great fish.
Jonah 2: 1-6a  What are his thoughts?
Jonah 2:6b-9  What are his thoughts?

5.  How did God use the great fish to rescue Jonah?

6.  This morning Brian read several testimonies of God's rescue.  This week, use Jonah 2 as a template for you own Psalm of God's rescue.
